Golf at The Royal Colombo Golf Club, Colombo

Catch a bit of history here, The Royal Colombo Golf Club was established in 1879, and is the fourth oldest golf club in the world outside the UK. Water comes into play almost immediately on this flat course with broad fairways. A railway line actually passes through the course and can come into play on a few holes.
18 holes, Par-71, 5,770 m. This course is 5'770 m long (Par-71).

Golf at Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, Nuwara Eliya


Located 6000 m high and about 200 kms (124 miles) from Colombo, and in tea country, this shortest course is considered by many to be one of the finest in Asia. Long, narrow fairways require handling of up-hill and down-hill. Holes 12-14 are called Switzerland, with mountainous terrain and in beautiful isolation. Remarkably, the fifth tee has only a fence dividing one from the St. Andrews Drive (a main road), a movie hall, and several river holes as well. Elephants are occasionally known to stroll on the course.

Golf at Victoria Golf Club, Digana, Kandy

This beautiful championship golf course was opened in 1999. Located 25 kms (15.5 miles) from Kandy and 150 kms (93 miles) from Colombo, the course offers undulating terrain amidst a very pleasuring backdrop of hills and lakes. As befitting a hilly country side, the fairways are narrow. The front nine holes are in the hillier section.

The Victoria Golf & Country Resort is a 517-acre property and offers horse riding, mountain biking, bird watching trails, swimming and canoeing in the reservoir that goes around the golf course. The Victoria Golf Club hosted a recent Sri Lankan Airlines Golf Classic.

Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club won a world wide following since it opened in January 1993. It is located in the heart of the city and is minutes away from the Dubai International Airport. It has won many awards, including the Best Clubhouse in Golf World's ‘Best of the Best’ Awards running alongside a stretch of water, the course is a true golfers’ paradise and is voted as one of the top 100 must play golf courses in the world by golf. This championship course, also a former home to the Dubai Desert Classic, is quite challenging with nicely groomed fairways and interesting water bodies.

Also known as the Desert Miracle, this is a world class golf club with two courses, the Maglis championship course and the Wadi Couse. The Maglis Course tests a golfer for sure, with several challenging holes, especially the 8th, meandering fairways and plenty of water bodies. The beautiful club house adds to the charm of this course. The Wadi Course (‘valley’ in Arabic), has wide spaces and large greens, 14 lakes and plenty of bunkers.

A fully floodlit course, enjoy the night round the lush fairways, undulating greens, and lots of bunkers. The 9 lakes prove to be a challenge on most of the holes. No.13 hole of Par-4 and No.14 hole of Par-3 are the most talked about holes.

A majestic old course, now completely re-modelled. Level layout, front 9 has elevated greens and trees border the fairways. The back 9 has trees in greater quantity. The 1st hole (Par-4) is considered by many to be the finest opening hole in Thailand. Water hazards play a big part, thus accuracy is paramount throughout the round. While greens are fast and true, excellent food is on offer always.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., this is one of the most famous and exclusive courses in Thailand; it also hosted the World Cup in 1975. Well positioned bunkers, difficult water hazards and quick greens are the highlights of this course. Beautiful old trees surround the nice designed fairways. The 6th and 9th holes are a sort of golfing Mecca for new golfers in Thailand. It is an excellent club house.

Thai Country Club, located in the East of Bangkok, opened in 1996. The course is superbly maintained and managed - the first-class service starts from the moment you arrive at the club house. The layout is challenging but you are unlikely to encounter a bad lie on these fairways. Thai Country Club hosted the Honda Classic Invitation tournament won by Tiger Woods.
